Do you know that Christ has saved you? To be sure, let me ask you a few specific questions:
- Do you realize you have sinned against a holy God, that because of your sin you don’t deserve to go to heaven, and that you can never do enough to save yourself? (Romans 3:23, 6:23)
- Do you believe that when Jesus died on the cross, He suffered the full penalty for all your sins, in your place, as your substitute, and then physically rose again from the dead? (Romans 5:8)
- Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone as your Savior, trusting in what He has done for you as the only way for your sins to be forgiven so that you can go to heaven? (John 1:12-13)
- Do you believe that it is by grace you are saved, through faith alone, without any need for your own good works? (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-5)
- Have you ever specifically asked Jesus to be your personal Savior? (Revelation 3:20)
- Do you believe that because of your acceptance of Christ’s sacrifice for you, God has already forgiven you for all of your sins and has given you the gift of eternal life? (1 John 5:11-13)
- Do you acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He is the God who created you, and that He has the right to run your life? (Romans 10:9)
If you answered “yes” to all these questions, great! Welcome to the family of God. NOW you can begin the awesome adventure of being on the team that turns this world upside down!
